The Pastor's Corner

In looking at the Church today, I often wonder if people understand why there is a Church and who established it. When I say ‘Church’, I mean the group of people who call themselves ‘Christian’, not just a building with a Cross inside of it.

The Church was established by none other than our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He established His Church through the apostles in order for the Church to spread the Good News (the Gospel). The Good News is that Jesus died for our sins, and that we need to turn back to God (repent) and to become followers of Jesus.

Many people today say “Oh, I like Jesus but I don’t like the Church”, without realizing that this is akin to telling a man, “I like you, but I hate your wife and kids!” The scriptures tell us that the Church is the Bride of Christ, meaning we are the treasures of Jesus’ Heart. He LOVES us!!!! And very soon, Jesus will return for His Bride at the Rapture.

No, the Church isn’t perfect, only Jesus is. But the Church belongs to Christ, and Christ is the Head of the Church. If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ, then you are part of the Church. The Bible says we should not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encourage one another —and all the more as we get closer to the Rapture (the day when Jesus comes back for all of His followers.)

So instead of hanging out on the sidelines, we want you to come home, join your Church family, the other believers. We want you with us, and your help is needed to prepare the Church for her Bridegroom, because He is coming soon!
